Brooklyn born and raised, Mitch Gueran hails from the tight-knit neighborhood of Sunset Park. He began his DJ career in the late eighties, during the height of New York City’s house music craze. Discouraged from DJing by his friends who said he would “never be anything but an off-beat DJ,” he embraced this critique and DJ OPHBEET was born.

Determined to be the best, Mitch sought to learn all he could about his craft. He received tutelage from one half of the Masters at Work duo, Kenny “Dope” Gonzalez, at the world famous Music Center record shop. Armed with this newfound knowledge and his strong musical background Mitch set out to spread House music to the world.

Mitch has performed at various long-running residencies since those early days. He continues to entertain audiences with his global radio shows and harmoniously crafted sets available on SoundCloud.
